The idea of mold growing in your car’s interior is an idea that’s both horrifying and familiar. I’d wager that many car owners have had the misfortune of dealing with the aftermath of mold growth. From an environmental standpoint, it’s important to go into cleaning up mold with a careful plan, because once mold starts to grow in your car, you’ll want to make sure you get rid of it permanently. Vehicles undergo a lot of heat, cold, and moisture which can contribute to mildew buildup. If you don’t have this mold properly cleaned, you could be putting yourself at risk. 

We recently had a customer come to our shop with this problem, and needed our help to safely remove the harmful mold. They had left their vehicle in their garage for over a year, in which at some point moisture got inside. The moisture then caused mold to grow over the interior of the vehicle. We were able to professionally remove all the mold, so that it looked new again.

The mold smell was very strong inside the vehicle, so masks and gloves were worn through the entire process to ensure everyone’s safety. We executed a full interior detailing for the vehicle which included steam cleaning, vinegar, and a mold killer chemical. Every piece in the car was detailed over 3 times to ensure that the mold was treated and removed properly. In the end, all the mold was removed and the car looked good as new!
